I bought a Yamaha 5.1 over four years ago and it still runs great. Highly recommend especially at this price. Just remember, the sound is only as good as the weakest link.

If you have cheap speakers, you won't hear the quality of the stereo. Make sure to invest in good speakers and expect to pay $75-$100 per speaker and $200-$500 for the subwoofer.

You won't be disappointed and look for specials on brands that only make speakers like Klipsch, Energy & B&W to name a few. Avoid brands (Sony, Kenwood, Samsung, Yamaha, etc) that make stereo units since they package them together and speaker quality is what suffers for the low price.

Also make sure you match your stereo power to your speakers, seek professional advice so you get the best experience from your investment.
