Good to know. Fries are about the only thing I can eat from McDonalds after 10:30 am.

Oh man, I have to try this out sometime. Yeah sure it's not healthy but... you have to indulge sometimes :)

Is this the recipe for the old or new MC D fries? The older ones were the best!

I am not sure if this is for the new or the old. I keep hearing how great their old fries were. Maybe they should follow the example of Coke and have McDonald's Fries Classic.

their old ones just had animal fat in the grease so just deep fry some meat before hand, and use the same oil

I'm not sure why you would want to make McDonald’s-style French Fries. It's not like they are healthy for you. I would like to make Chic-fil-a waffle fries, but of course that's just my opinion. :)

This was my first thought too, why would you want to? Sort of the whole point is that when you get them at mcdonalds, you don't have to know how bad they are. When you make them yourself, it's hard to ignore.

I've previously seen this much more detailed account of making McDonald's-style fries, which holds that freezing is a necessary step. I like the way that some actual frozen McDonald's fries were used as a control. http://aht.seriouseats.com/archives/2010/05/the-burger-lab-how-to-make-perfect-mcdonalds-style-french-fries.html
