Other Thoughts: When I first got this unit, I had an old SMC 802.11b wireless router. The adapter worked fine in most areas of the home, but it had trouble when I used it on a PC that was about 75ft from the router. There were also 2 walls in between and the PC sat on the floor in a built-in desk. It maintained a low strength conn and dropped off about every hour. I put a USB extender on it and clipped it to the wall about 3 ft. above the desktop, which helped reduce the dropped conn problem. I replaced the router with a Linksys G router and it hasn't dropped since. It now maintains a conn betweeen low and med strength, but it's plenty fast for online gaming and downloading.
