I can summarize a few items with the unit I received:
1. It only plays .AVI and they need to be converted to 320x240 which is fairly easy if you use the AVI converter 3.1 which comes on a mini CD in the packaging. I think for it to play mp4s it must be converted to a similar resolution as it didn't play any of my mp4s, mpegs, or movs. I converted Iron Man to a 320x240 16:9 AVI and it looks very clear and bright.
2. It handles mp3s very well. You just plug in the USB and drag it to the folder like you would an external hard drive. It has an equalizer and the sound playback was very nice.
3. My camera/video cam was 1.3MP and was about as good as your first generation cellphones that have them built in. Don't expect anything spectacular with these many MPs of course.
4. Mine didn't have the GAMES folder. No biggie since I think it was only a tetris-clone.
5. The picture viewer is very bright and clear although my pictures were a bit to big I guess (1-2MB) and took about 10 seconds each to load. So, I wouldn't use this as "picture storage" more like "picture viewing". So I would recommend reducing the size of your pics before putting them on.
6. FM radio/Recorder. Pretty standard quality. The recorder was about as good at recording and playback as my a message left on my cellphone. Not spectacular but clear enough to understand.
Bottom line: Decent buy if you look at it like a "good 8GB mp3/avi player with a lot of little extras"
